Sports Day has arrived. This afternoon we will be taking part in sports day and are really looking forward to having lots of fun and cheering on our team. I'm sure the children will have lots to tell you when you come and pick them up. Thank you to those parents who took our advice and sent your child to school with a full PE kit and drinks bottle.

During term six, as well as continuing our learning on 'Habitats', we will also be learning about
'Ancient Greece'.

In particular, we will be learning about ancient Greek art but will also cover other areas within this e.g. Olympics, food, clothing.......... Please give time for you children to carry out further research at home to expand their knowledge and share with their peers in school. Your support with learning at home is much appreciated.

Art Week

We had a fantastic art week where we focused on animal art to link in with out topic on 'Habitats'. I hope you enjoyed seeing the artwork we had produced when we brought some of it home. One piece of artwork produced in particular this week was:
We worked on the theme 'Excellence', and joint up our individual ideas with an artist called Nick to create this fabulous piece of work. It will soon be displayed between the year 4 and 5 classes so keep an eye out.

Literacy

In Literacy we have been focusing on poems for the last two weeks. Our poems have all been about creating an animal through descriptive sentences and verses. Each verse needed to create a particular part of the body. We have wrote them up in our literacy books, followed by publishing them into a video. See some of our fantastic work below.

Folly Farm

Year 3 had an amazing trip last Friday to Folly Farm. We had lots of fun and thoroughly enjoyed our day. It all started with Pond dipping where the children were able to catch pond life and learn facts about these creatures. We then moved up into the woodlands to create a habitat for some Mammal Blood (Blackcurrant) where the children used the resources around them and their imagination to build a warm shelter. My group came 2nd but well done to the team that came first. After a well deserved lunch, we ventured further into the forest to look for woodland mini beasts. The children had a memorable experience and a fantastic day. Thank you to all parents who contributed their money for the cost of the trip. Please take a look at us having fun below:
