Continuing with our excellent maths work, we had the chance to enjoy some maths challenges when we had a visitor last week. Our visitor brought us maths in a suitcase.
Abdirahim - I really enjoyed having a go at all the different puzzles.
Muusa - Making the 3D magnetic shapes was fun.
Faduma - I found placing the birds and monkeys together a big challenge.

Numeracy: Since we started back in September in Year 3, We have been working very hard in our Numeracy. We have recently been working on measurements, converting grams (g) into kilogrammes (kg). This week we are starting to look at co-ordinates and time.

Literacy: We have really been enjoying our new Literacy story 'The maid, the witch and the cruel queen' which is a Tudor themed story. This week we have changed the problem section and made up a new way to trick the lord. Next week we will be inventing our own story and trick.

Thank you to all parents who turned up for there appointment yesterday. It was lovely to meet you all and finally get the chance to talk about your child's progress. I am looking forward to meeting those of you who have appoints today.

Year 3 recently went on a school trip to the Bristol Red Lodge museum. They had a really fantastic time and lots of fun dressing up in Tudor Clothing. Pictures will follow shortly so please keep yours eyes pealed.

This week your homework focus is on improving sentences. Read the sentences carefully and think about which adjectives, wow words e.t.c would improve the sentences.
Also, remember to go on your mathletics account and complete the homework tasks on there.
Homework Day: Your homework is to look at the pictures handed out and write a detailed description of what you see. Remember to include everything you have learnt in class; wow words, powerful adjectives, connectives, similes.
Please also remember to practise your spellings and complete your tasks on matheletics.
